The sci-fi action-adventure game, Age of Rust, has released its special development update for September. In its release, the gaming platform announced its intention to switch from Enjin to Polygon.
According to Age of Rust, the transition requires redesigning its game NFTs and changing its asset structure while improving support for game NFTs. It stresses that the goal is to provide a better experience for users who have played the beta and alpha versions of its game.
The platform also revealed that this change will allow the team to simplify the use of NFT in the game.. Players will no longer have to worry about searching for multiple NFTs in the markets.
Highlights of the planned changes to NFT
Rustbits: Age of Rust reveals that it will move Rustbits to an ERC20 token on Polygon and drop them to holders. The maximum bid for this NFT is 37,289,210, which will provide more opportunities for use and facilities to leverage other platforms working with ERC20 tokens.
The gaming platform says that the timing of the move is pending, but that it will not require any wizards or claims process.
Mission NFTs: In addition, Age of Rust announces that users will re-roll Mission NFTs on Polygon as ERC-1155 NFTs. All current holders will receive the drop of the new NFTs without any wizard, deck, or claim action. During this time, the current distribution amount will be capped at the original number of 4,865.
Privateer NFT: This is a new numbered NFT with unique artwork and features by NFT. It is similar to the PFP style NFT. Age of Rust says it can modify the metadata of this NFT to replicate the unlocking of game achievements and bonuses. In addition, the NFT has future capabilities to enhance and customize characters.
Game Item NFTs: The game platform states that it will not move game item NFTs from the Enjin platform. Holders will also not be able to use them in the game. Instead, they will all be unlocked with the game. These NFTs include heat vision, Enjin multiverse items, and others.
NFTs Lastlight, Ankh, and Origin: Age of Rust will re-print these NFTs on Polygon in ERC-1155 and drop them for holders.
Overview of the simplified gameplay of Age of Rust.
Players will only need the Privateer NFT to play Age of Rust from now on. Players will use this NFT to play the narrative side of the game by focusing on the storyline and playing it from start to finish.
However, the crypto-puzzle side of the game will require additional NFTs to unlock the Easter-egg features. Players interested in this side of the game should obtain NFTs from players who have collected them.
