Although Guild of Guardians has run a few successful demo/beta playtests, the GoG team has decided to delay the launch of its game. Reaction to the game’s preview has been generally positive, but Guild of Guardians has big plans to bring millions of players into the web3 ecosystem, and they want to make sure they’re delivering a high-quality offering.
First impressions can be important. Especially for wary gamers. That’s why Guild of Guardians wants to make sure they present themselves in the best light when marketing their game to those unfamiliar with blockchain technology. They also want to provide a seamless, wallet-free onboarding system for all of their players. This is why Guild of Guardians decided to push back the launch of their game to 2023.
Now, we don’t have any real details on when 2023 will be or what it will be. Presumably, this announcement refers to the alpha version, which was previously scheduled for late 2022. But, with a less-than-helpful roadmap and no date estimate, it’s hard to make predictions. However, it seems clear that we shouldn’t expect to see anything substantial released this year.
Guild of Guardians has been releasing irregular updates in the form of a new version of the game. Developer’s Log. The latest one shows us some of their plans for guilds. We’ve seen interface previews for the Guild Hall, Raid preparation, and Guild crafting.
In addition, the GoG ambassador team is working on creating events and activities to engage the player community. One of the first will be Thursday trivia nights, with prizes. Join the Guild of Guardians Discord and keep an eye on the announcement channel for more details.
What is Guild of Guardians?
Guild of Guardians is a cooperative, fantasy, action and dungeon crawler game currently in development on the Ethereum blockchain. Players gather in groups of four to enter dungeons, battle monsters, defeat dangerous bosses and walk away with experience and treasure. The game uses NFTs for all its heroes, items and pets.
Guild of Guardians takes a “mobile first” approach to its game. Guild of Guardians has made several rounds of NFT releases and has also launched its token, GOG. NFTs can be redeemed on Immutable X, and the token, Guild of Guardians Gems (GOG), can be found on all ETH DEX.
The game will include a pool of GOG token rewards that will be filled by using the tokens in the game. Guild of Guardians will also include pets, guilds and raids, with future plans for land ownership, user-created dungeons and incorporation into e-sports. GoG already has several partnerships with eSports teams.
Guild of Guardians will be free to play, but those who own NFTs will have various perks to play.
