Mines Of Dalarnia (MoD) will improve the welcome for new players with a new mining tutorial, new in-game prompts, and improved wallet login instructions.
In this action-adventure game set in 11,752, players mine and combine various in-game items. Players upgrade their skills and equipment to unlock the secrets of the MoD universe. Fight enemies and search for rare relics and artifacts.
Mining in Dalarnia
MoD’s vision statement is simple and straightforward:
“With Mines of Dalarnia, our goal is to use the possibilities offered by blockchain technologies to create unique, community-driven gaming experiences.”
The game is an intergalactic mining adventure where players dig for rare resources (minerals and gems) to craft new items and supplies to progress through the treacherous territories – in short, it’s a Ridley Scott movie with NFTs.
Mines of Dalarnia offers two gameplay options: Miners and landowners. However, players are not trapped in either role and can switch between them whenever they wish.
Land
Miners can rent land from landowners and receive rent for digging. Payment is made in $DAR. Players should be aware that landowners must periodically terraform the LANDS and replenish resources as miners dig and mine the LANDS’ resources.
In addition, each plot of LAND is unique, with a different distribution of resources, and players can access more LAND as they progress and expand the game. Ultimately, LAND owners must actively care for their mining plots with terraforming capsules to remain attractive to miners.
LAND owners can mine for free on their plots.
Miners
Miners struggle to become powerful and efficient, amassing wealth, meeting challenges and fighting monsters in the depths. In the future, players will be able to be part of multiplayer spaces where they will share and participate in exciting multiplayer competitions. Most of the game’s land plots (LAND) used for mining are owned by the players.
Miners focus on creating and improving their equipment by playing and collecting resources. There is a limit to the miners’ abilities because the average power of a player’s equipment decides their overall advancement.
When digging for the first time in a plot, the game creates a particular category of mine based on the type of LAND to be dug. Mining is not easy, as players face many challenges, such as fighting and collecting valuable resources before dying or going out to bring back raw materials to refine into usable resources.
New MOD Experience DAR-B The Helper Bot
The developers are introducing a friendly little robot that will guide players through the game mechanics and user interface features. In Deeper Depths, other forms of helper bots may start appearing in the mines, so explorers should keep their eyes open.
Now, the new gameplay tutorial will guide players through a non-random level map with prompts explaining how to mine, collect gems, fight monsters and find exits. Systems such as radar, bonus timer and reward logic will also be more explicit.
Finally, improved floating messages will guide players through their first few sessions. The tutorial can be skipped by experienced players or replayed from the main menu for players who need a refresher.
The enhanced tutorial and welcome experience will be available prior to the release of Update 1.1: Deeper Depths.
Economic system
The game’s cryptocurrency is DAR, an Ethereum token that powers Mines of Dalarnia. Coinbase describes it as a P2E game with mechanics including mining, multiplayer combat and resource gathering. Players spend currency to upgrade items, trade on the game’s NFT marketplace and vote on the future of the platform.
The game’s terrain is divided into four types, each vital to the game’s ecosystem. Players face terrifying monsters and must approach each type differently. As the game progresses, the inventory grows with new items. The results depend on the player’s combination of tools, skills and weapons.
There are four types of worlds in Mines of Dalarnia:
- Darkness (green) – dark dungeons where you can find valuable minerals ;
- Ice (blue) – endless stretches of ice;
- Lava (red) is the underground world closest to the planet’s core, so the landscape is filled with rivers of lava;
- Earth (purple) is a classic surface known to all.
The MOD can be confusing for new players, and the new bot feature will help users better explore Dalarnia and discover the “unlimited riches” beneath its surface.
