The team behind Mines of Dalarnia has released a September recap and an exciting development update. Fans of the blockchain-based action-adventure mining platformer will have a lot to look forward to if the new updates come to fruition. The team was extremely positive about the progress made in September, with plenty of excitement for what’s to come later in the year.
Mines of Dalarnia tweeted, “September was awesome and busy, with major updates and events! So, in case you missed it, let’s take a look at the highlights from September and look ahead to October as it’s sure to be just as eventful!”
Some of the most important updates that were mentioned include the Earth Economy 2.0 update, the Dar-B assist robot and the golden update. Let’s take a look at what these are.
The Mines of Dalarnia: Land Economy Update 2.0
The Mines of Dalarnia Land Economy Update 2.0 resolves some key issues that were affecting the gameplay and “play to win” aspect of the game.
Some of the main issues that players have reported about the way the land economy works in the game include
- The difficulty of competing in the market if your land is deemed suboptimal by other players.
- The logic of the terraforming cap is the same for all plots, good or bad, despite the fact that good plots sell for more on the market.
- The fixed universal rent of 1 DAR reduces the competitive advantage of the game.
- Landowners don’t need to be involved in the game or in their land, they just have to wait for their plot to empty and pay for it to be filled.
Clearly, these key issues affect gameplay and do not do much for the development of the game for players who engage in it.
How will the new update help?
The new update hopes to address these issues. Here are some of the major changes that will be implemented in the short term:
- The cost of resupplying land will no longer be the same, each plot will have a number of resources that will decrease from 100 to 1, and players will have to resupply the plot when the resources are depleted.
- The cost of replenishment will be determined by factors such as the resources found on the plot and the number of resources to be replenished.
- New terraforming capsules will be introduced, but they will require fewer resources to craft to make them more accessible.
It is hoped that this update will allow owners of less desirable land to have cheaper resupply options and charge lower prices, which should create a market for copper and iron mining.
This new update, dubbed Land Economy 2.0, is expected to be released a few weeks before the 1.1: Deeper Depths update.
Dalarnia Mines: Update Dar-B The Helper Robot
An adorable new helper robot called DAR-B will help miners in their adventures in Dalarnia. DAR-B the Helper Robot is designed to help players troubleshoot problems with game mechanics and user interface functionality.
There will be an all-new gameplay tutorial that will guide players through a level map with several prompts that will teach them how to perform basic tasks. These tasks include mining, collecting gems, fighting monsters and locating exits in the game.
Experienced players will of course be able to skip the tutorial. But it will come in handy for those who need a refresher and for new players.
Also, the Deeper Depths update should add bots like DAR-B. But we don’t know if they will be as adorable.
Dalarnia Mines: The Golden Mine Update
Another interesting update released by Mines of Dalarnia is the golden mine update. This change is not expected until the major content update, but the game developers have already shared new features that are sure to excite players.
The Golden Mine is currently the main source of the Gold resource in the Dalarniaverse. Players must reach a minimum power level of 12 before they can enter this particular mine.
And the new update will make it even more enticing. For example, there will be a brand new map generation algorithm to create these exciting levels.
But also, players will be able to explore unpredictable cave networks with various new locations and challenges scattered throughout the golden mine.
New monsters will also be introduced as part of this update. In fact, Mines of Dalarnia has posted a short video on YouTube showing what the monster tracker gameplay will look like in the game.
