As part of an event called Harvest Celebration, Everseed has begun distributing NFT seeds to the wallets of those who own an Everseed Ranger. Players can water their seeds daily via Discord commands and grow… something? This drop began on August 26 and there are still seeds to be distributed.
As part of a surprise event, Everseed has begun a drop of seed NFTs to all wallets containing Ranger NFTs. The first pass has already been sent to those with Level 1 Rangers. Another pass will be sent to other Rangers soon. These mysterious seeds can be watered through the official website of the association. Official Everseed Discord.
Growing your seed involves some interaction with the Discord. In #growing you can use the /water command daily. In addition, players can recruit helpers, who can also water the seed daily. Only players who do not own seeds can be helpers. You can try to find a helper on Discord in the #recruit-helper channel. Helpers earn a small favor each time they water. Helpers may also receive a special drop in the future! So be sure to link your wallet to Everseed and their Discord server.
These seeds cannot be traded. And while we don’t know what will come of them yet, the team strongly encourages everyone to water daily!
Construction in progress
Everseed is taking a route we’ve seen in a number of blockchain games recently. Knowing that their ultimate game, a large-scale MMO, is still a ways off, the Everseed team is building mini-games and hosting special events along the way.
The first is a pseudo-staking program, which encourages players to keep their Ranger NFTs. Rangers earn favors by building outposts. This is done automatically when you link your wallet on the website and check in on Discord. Rangers take several days to get to the construction site. But once there, they start building an outpost and generating favor points. The longer you keep your NFT Ranger, the faster it generates favors. Favor generation speed peaks after 21 days.
What is Favor good for? Not much at the moment. But the Everseed team promises that players will be able to spend their favors to get more content in the future.
Additionally, Everseed is building a tower defense game, for which they’ve already held a few demos. Ranger owners will be able to play this game and use the experience gained in the game to increase their Ranger NFT. Now we have something new with these seeds, and potentially more Discord events to come?
Many gaming communities offer games and interactions on Discord. But few of them are related to the game in development. I like the way Everseed interweaves its games and gives them a purpose. I think this will start to be a more common theme seen in blockchain games.
What is Everseed?
Everseed is an MMORPG game being developed on the Solana blockchain. While building their main game, they also have various interactions on Discord and a tower defense style mini-game along the way that allows players to earn Favor and level up their Rangers.
Players have Ranger and Companion NFTs, which can be upgraded after successful adventures. When not adventuring, players spend time in a social town center. There they can chat with each other, customize their adventure gear, craft, grow plants, form guilds, and all sorts of goodies. The game will feature seasonal content as well as permanent progression paths. Everseed will be free to play and the team sees free-to-play players as an essential part of the game.
There isn’t much documentation on the game yet. The website is pretty bare bones and there doesn’t seem to be a white paper or playbook. You can read some blog posts from the Everseed team on Substack… Everseed’s open beta is scheduled for mid-2023.
