Sorare, the popular blockchain-based fantasy sports platform, has released the first official look of Sorare NBA. The game is also launching a beta that will give NBA fans access to its basketball-themed fantasy sports game.
In a tweet earlier today, Sorare also revealed that NBA action shots are in the works and will be launched soon. The first Sorare NBA beta is the biggest step towards the official launch of the actual game itself. The fantasy sports platform has also ventured into soccer and MLB.
Sorare NBA Beta and Official Look: What we know
Other than a Sorare NBA teaser video, the team hasn’t given us many details. However, we have a rough idea of what the Sorare NBA beta will look like. First of all, the game offers up to 5000 limited cards.
These cards have different levels of rarity. The first 1000 are classified as rare, while another 100 are super rare. Some unique cards should be the top of the pack. The rest of the cards are common.
Like Sorare Football, the goal for players is to collect cards, build an NBA team and compete against other users for a chance to win great prizes. Each team must have five players or cards.
Card auctions are already in full swing
Within minutes of the live beta announcement, auctions of super rare cards immediately began. These auctions were designed to coincide with the official launch of the beta, and so far it seems that fans are already flocking to the event.
At one point, we even saw bids for two large single cards featuring Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Blake Griffin of the Boston Celtics.
The live beta launch also comes after the game held its first community event today. The event was hosted by Jay Williams, a retired basketball player who made his name in the early 2000s with the Chicago Bulls.
Why is Sorare NBA a big deal?

Sorare NBA also reinforces Sorare’s position as the ultimate fantasy sports platform on the web3. While platforms like Battle Infinity are improving, they are still far from matching Sorare.
It will be interesting to see how the NBA will perform. But considering that it is a much bigger sport than baseball outside of the United States, Sorare NBA could be a major growth engine for the entire fantasy sports platform.
